Countrymen and Immigrants,
Recently our nation has witnessed a great divide over immigration in
America. Those who marched in the streets did so because of the fear of
losing the American dream of freedom and prosperity. At the same time, the
American Citizens fear a loss of their sovereignty and the stability of
their country.
As humane people of civilized nations we must clearly come to understand the
facts and work to amend our fears. Citizens Group believes that those who
come to America are here because of the misconduct of their government and
lack of opportunities in their homeland. In their hearts the large majority
of these people do not have a desire to be citizens of America. This is
because of their strong ties, and sincere devotion, to their country. They
only wish to be productive citizens within their place of birth.
Americans have great compassion for all immigrants and do want to reach out
to them, but we also want to maintain our sovereignty as America.
Citizens Group strongly believes we can reach solutions that will, in the
long term, achieve what needs to be done to put away our fears and reach out
to support each other. However, to do so will require a great amount of
maturity, an open mind, and a willingness to change our way of thinking. We
must respect the rights of each others country to exist in peace and
prosperity.
First, we must adjust our immigration rules. Second, create sound long term
goals to transport the American dream into the country of the immigrant.
To do so, the United States must develop a faster system for immigrants to
receive guestworker passes. This will, allow many to come to our country to
earn an income. However, a guestworker pass shall be a work permit and not a
path to citizenship. This single point is extremely important in the long
term in order to build the American dream in their homeland.
We recognize that the kinds of people that come to America are the hard
working and spirited people of their country. If they stay in America as
citizens, their country will lose an irreplaceable base of strength and
leadership. If they do not return, they create a very serious void by
stripping away their country's most valuable people.
While working in America they will grow in knowledge and develop strong
working skills and work ethics. They will be strengthened in the principals
of democracy and learn creative skills to build a stronger free enterprise
system in their country. These are principals that must not be stolen from
their country. If they do not return home, their country cannot and will not
progress as a nation. They will never overcome poverty or their dependence
on other nations for their welfare. The long term goal must be to train the
guestworker so they will return home and build a nation that will overcome poverty and be a self-sufficient people.
We must also realize America is not capable or large
enough to allow the world to come to this land. The
American dream must be developed world wide. Not
just in America.
Citizens Group is calling for all immigrants to consider standing strong in
their faith to build a more productive and safer government at home. It is
very important that they do not run away and hide from the conditions in
their country that caused them to leave. To do so is to turn away from
families, countrymen, and the future well being of their country.
There was a time in our nation's history when it would have been easier to
run away from the government that ruled over us. But our forefathers stood
up to the most powerful nation on earth. Our forefathers gave to us and to
the world an example to follow, both of courage and commitment. Like our
forefathers, it may be necessary to re-structure a government that is
capable of offering the freedom and prosperity the immigrant so much desire.
Each of you has a personal moral responsibility and a mission to help
provide for your country that which your people are not able to accomplish.
Now is your time to bring the American dream to your countrymen. If this be
your desire, we support you in overcoming those obstacles that are
restricting the principles of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness in
your country.
Citizens Group calls on the President, congress, the American people, and
all immigrants to work together to make the American dream happen through
out the world.
